Comment: Ben is a strong athletic prop and an excellent scrummager. He began his professional rugby career with the Brumbies in Canberra, where he was born, and won 3 Brisbane premierships with the Canberra Vikings. He then played in Wales for a short time before being recruited to the Sale Sharks. There he played 2 seasons, playing in the winning Premiership side in 2006. He was then spotted by ex-Wallabies Coach Eddie Jones & brought back to Australia where he two seasons with the Qld Reds. After impressive form in the initial ARC with Qld, where he demolished the Waratahs scrum in one game, he was selected in the Wallaby World Cup Squad but suffered a season ending shoulder injury playing for the Reds. He has worked hard in the off season and returned as a starting prop in a revitalised Reds football team for the 2nd half of 2008 Super 14 season. It was no coincidence that the Reds resurrection late in the 2008 season coincided with his elevation to the starting team. He is an aggressive scrummager and excels in the tight where his cleanouts are a feature of his involvement. Ben then took up an offer to play in France with Top 14 club Mont de Marsan who gained promotion and is playing strongly at tighhead. Read below about Ben's interests:
